If you don't often go to the heart of Bangkok and prefer to enjoy Parks (Rama 9 park is the best), or Mega Bang Na mall which is nice as it's partly outdoor and with natural light, then Bang Na / Punawiti might be a good choice for you. Also convenient if you often fly through Suwanapurn airport.

Thong Lor and Ekkamai are very close to each other. Just a street over, however Ekkamai typically is better value yet still just 5-10 min away.
